Medical Microneedling - Number 1 treatment 1

Medical Microneedling

Microneedling has been used for over 15 years to help improve skin, both on the face and other parts of the body. And now, Blend Clinic under the lead of Amanda Bradshaw, is excited to bring to you the next level of medical microneedling using the EXCEED system.

Using the EXCEED system from ameia med, it is now possible to medically treat many skin conditions and obtain even better results compared to previous microneedling techniques. The EXCEED system can be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions such as:
● Acne scars
● Scars (including scars as a result of surgery)
● Wrinkles and sagging skin
● Pigment disorders
● Sun damage
● Visible and large pores
● Stretch marks
● Cellulite

The EXCEED microneedling system gives much better results than that which can be achieved using other older types of older microneedling systems. There is minimal risk of scarring when compared to other procedures such as microdermabrasion and chemical fruit acid peeling. What’s more, there is no introduction of foreign substances needed to achieve the results. Medical microneedling will not damage the epidermis layer of the skin unlike other systems.

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling uses a device which has tiny needles which penetrate the top layer of the skin. By doing so, the needles create micro-punctures which cause localised and controlled damage without affecting the epidermis (the outermost three layers of your skin). This causes the body to active its own natural regenerative process by stimulating the skin’s collagen synthesis.

WILL THE TREATMENT BE PAINFUL?

For most people, the answer is no. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area being treated combined with a peeling scrub. The microneedles in the device only penetrate the very top layer of skin which mostly consists of dead skin cells. Various bespoke products are used to help achieve the desired results whether that be a brighter complexion, reduce scaring or redness caused by stretch marks.

HOW QUICKLY ARE RESULTS SEEN?

You should start to see results after the very first treatment, although with scar tissue (including acne scars) and stretch marks, it may take a little longer to see the full affect of the treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments. After this, your skin will continue to improve, and in most cases, results are still visible over the next 6 to 12 months when combined with the recommended post-treatment care.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?

For best results, it’s recommended that you have 4 to 6 treatments initially, depending on the area being treated, and these should be carried out at between 4 to 8 week intervals. After this, most people find that having annual refresher treatments continues to maintain the results. Amanda will be happy to advise you about your specific treatment plan during your initial appointment, and on how best to maintain your results.
